Punjab BJP Chief Accuses State Government of Total Governance Failure

Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon has accused the Aam Aadmi Party administration of presiding over a complete collapse of public safety. Citing a string of violent attacks and murders across the state, Dhillon argued that unchecked criminal activity has left ordinary citizens terrified and the government’s promises of security hollow.

The criticism follows the fatal shooting of social media influencer Mad Sandhu in Amritsar, who was targeted by motorcycle-borne assailants on Loharka Road. This incident, alongside an attack in Ludhiana that left former sarpanch Navtej Singh dead, has fueled opposition claims that law enforcement has lost its deterrent power. Dhillon also pointed to a recent homicide near the SDM Guest House in Khadur Sahib as further evidence of a deteriorating environment where criminals operate without fear of arrest.

While Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann continues to promote a vision of a safer Punjab, Dhillon contends that these daily realities reveal a starkly different picture. The BJP leader linked the rising wave of violence to a worsening drug crisis, suggesting that the current administration has failed to address the intersection of organized crime and substance abuse. With the 2027 assembly elections approaching, the party is intensifying its scrutiny of the state’s governance, framing the current security climate as a primary failure of the ruling party’s leadership.
