Addressing a press conference on Sunday, Trivedi contrasted the global recognition afforded to Captain Machchhar with the total absence of acknowledgement from Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. He argued that the Congress leadership has prioritized vote-bank politics over national pride, pointing to the party's past public stances on controversial figures as evidence of a selective moral compass. Trivedi specifically highlighted the party's failure to issue a single statement of support for the pilot, despite his actions being lauded by world leaders including the Presidents of the United States and Israel.
Beyond the silence surrounding the pilot, Trivedi expanded his critique to the internal dynamics of the Congress unit in Uttar Pradesh. He took aim at the appointments of Imran Masood and Aradhana Mishra, characterizing these leadership decisions as consistent with a broader trend of compromising national sentiment for political gain. By linking the party’s silence on the flight incident to these organizational choices, the BJP spokesperson alleged that the Congress continues to favor anti-national elements to secure its base, leaving citizens to question the party's true priorities.
