The BJP has selected Smita Jadhav to contest the Pune Division Graduates’ seat, Sudhakar Kohle for Nagpur Division Graduates’, and Kaustubh Gawde for the Pune Division Teachers’ constituency. These nominations follow the recent announcement by the Congress party, which has opted to renominate Abhijit Wanjari and Jayant Dinkar Asgaonkar, while putting forward Aditi Pohare for the Amravati Division Teachers’ seat.
The upcoming biennial elections cover five distinct areas: the Graduates’ constituencies of Aurangabad, Pune, and Nagpur, alongside the Teachers’ constituencies of Amravati and Pune. These seats are currently held by members whose terms expire on December 6. Following the formal notification issued on September 29, the nomination window remains open until October 6. Election officials will conduct scrutiny on October 7, with a withdrawal deadline of October 9. The final results are expected on October 27, concluding a process mandated by the Election Commission to be finalized by the end of the month.
