NDA Mounts Final Grassroots Push in Nagaon By-Election

With the campaign clock ticking down in the Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election, the National Democratic Alliance is blanketing all eight Assembly segments with a final, synchronized surge. Party workers are set to mobilize across 2,309 polling booths tomorrow, executing a massive series of foot marches to cement support for Debashis Sharma.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has anchored the NDA’s offensive, personally leading 15 major public rallies. Beyond the Chief Minister’s appearances, a cohort of senior figures including Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, AGP President Atul Bora, and Speaker Biswajit Daimary conducted over 1,100 meetings to influence the constituency. The strategy relies on granular outreach, with 25 Mandal Committees coordinating door-to-door visits and thousands of localized courtyard sessions.

The scale of the mobilization is extensive, with party morchas conducting more than 9,500 independent gatherings to engage specific demographics. The Nagaon Mahila Morcha alone organized 1,654 sessions, while youth, minority, and agrarian wings targeted voters across both Nagaon and Morigaon districts. By saturating these districts with micro-level events, the coalition aims to leave no pocket of the electorate untouched before the mandatory silence period begins.
