The BJP delegation, including state president BY Vijayendra and opposition leaders R Ashoka and Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, arrived at the Director General of Police’s office on Nrupathunga Road to submit a formal memorandum. Yediyurappa demanded an immediate cessation of all inquiries and arrests targeting party members, asserting that police officers are currently acting under political pressure from the ruling government rather than upholding the law.
Beyond the standoff with law enforcement, Yediyurappa condemned Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for staging a recent protest at the Election Commission office. He labeled the Chief Minister’s decision to pressure election officials as shameful, insisting that the administration should respect institutional independence. The BJP maintains that if police harassment persists, the party will mobilize its base across Karnataka to challenge the state's current governance.
