Campaigning for DMK candidate Suganya in the Nochipalayam area, Stalin challenged the moral standing of the state government. He contended that while the ruling party often accuses others of bribing voters, the Chief Minister has engaged in a more systemic form of corruption by splitting the AIADMK. According to Stalin, the administration successfully lured between 10 and 15 legislators with various inducements to maintain its legislative majority.
Stalin further asserted that the incumbent government owes its existence to the strategic restraint of the DMK. He noted that leaders from former alliance parties had previously petitioned party president M.K. Stalin to avoid imposing Governor’s Rule, fearing the instability of snap elections. The DMK leader claimed that despite this initial support, the Chief Minister grew dissatisfied and moved to consolidate power by poaching additional representatives. Voters in the Dharapuram and Madurantakam constituencies will head to the polls on October 6, with the final results set to be announced on October 9.
