Rajbhar, who heads the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party, questioned the sincerity of the Congress party regarding gender representation. He highlighted the party’s past opposition to the Women’s Reservation Bill in the Lok Sabha, suggesting this record undermines their current narrative surrounding the 40 percent female candidate quota utilized in the 2022 assembly elections.
The recent reshuffle, formalized by AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal, installs Aradhana Mishra—daughter of Rajya Sabha MP Pramod Tiwari—as the new UPCC president, replacing Ajay Rai. Alongside her, the party elevated Lok Sabha MP Imran Masood to the role of working president, while appointing Devinder Nishad and Alok Prasad as senior vice presidents. Chaudhary Virendra Singh has also been tapped to lead the Congress Legislature Party, marking a comprehensive attempt by the high command to reorganize its local structure.
