Congress Punjab in-charge Sachin Pilot confirmed the appointment on Friday, expressing confidence that Singh would champion the vision of party president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi. Pilot emphasized the necessity of strengthening the organizational structure to address public concerns in a state he describes as yearning for political change. While the party leadership formally acknowledged Warring’s contributions, the outgoing chief suggested his departure was a strategic decision by the central command. Warring stated that despite a lack of formal meetings with Pilot since his initial appointment, he remains committed to the party, noting that he has already shared his perspective on Punjab’s political landscape directly with Rahul Gandhi. Under the new leadership, the existing working presidents and committee chairpersons will retain their current positions to ensure continuity as the party pivots toward the upcoming electoral cycle.
