Congress leadership prepares for strategy session amid INDIA bloc tensions

General Secretary KC Venugopal has summoned party leadership to the All India Congress Committee headquarters on October 5 to address internal organization. The meeting follows a period of heightened friction between the Congress-led INDIA bloc and the Election Commission regarding the integrity of the national electoral process.

The gathering at Indira Bhawan on Kotla Marg will bring together state in-charges, PCC Presidents, and heads of frontal organizations to refine the party's operational approach. This session builds on earlier coordination efforts held by Rahul Gandhi and Venugopal on September 15, which focused on consolidating the party's administrative machinery at the national level.

Beyond internal restructuring, the meeting occurs against a backdrop of aggressive political maneuvering. Venugopal recently spearheaded a push within the INDIA bloc to demand the removal of Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The opposition alliance has leveled serious allegations of electoral interference, specifically targeting the use of electronic voting machines and the management of electoral rolls. By framing these concerns as a nationwide movement against what they term "vote chori," the Congress leadership is signaling a shift toward a more confrontational stance against current electoral protocols.
