Khaira, who represents the Bholath constituency, alleges that high-profile figures, including Manish Sisodia and Punjab observer Gayatri Bishnoi, are residing in homes officially allotted to sitting cabinet ministers. Specifically, he cites House No. 960 and House No. 961 in Sector 39, which are designated for Jail Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh and Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh, respectively. The complaint further highlights a broader pattern, noting that nearly a dozen other properties and 18 rooms at the local Circuit House are reportedly occupied by party staff and team members lacking official government status.
The legislator argues that these arrangements undermine the independence of the Punjab administration and represent a significant breach of public trust. He has urged the Governor to demand a full accounting of all allotment orders, including the recovery of rent, electricity, and water dues from those occupying the premises without legal entitlement. Khaira insists that if these findings confirm unauthorized use or subletting, the properties must be vacated immediately and all associated costs reimbursed to the state exchequer.
