Organized by the World Trade Organization, the Advisory Centre on WTO Law, and the European Law Students' Association, the competition simulates formal hearings under the WTO dispute settlement mechanism. Students develop written submissions and oral pleadings, often engaging directly with trade experts who serve as panelists. This practical exposure frequently acts as a launchpad for careers and graduate research in international trade law.

To support prospective teams, organizers have scheduled a series of webinars throughout the autumn. Information sessions on 1 and 2 October 2026 will clarify competition rules, financial requirements, and administrative procedures. These are followed by specialized masterclasses on 16 and 18 November 2026, which focus on sharpening research, drafting, and oral presentation skills. All sessions are held at 10:00 and 16:00 CET to accommodate a global audience, with teams encouraged to register for one slot per series to master the requirements of this year's high-tech legal challenge.
