Aam Aadmi Party distances itself from INDIA bloc meeting

While distancing his party from the coalition's internal strategy session, Singh pivoted to the conduct of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. He characterized the grievances against Kumar as a national concern, urging all political factions to rally behind a protest organized by the CJP scheduled for October 2.

The meeting at the Constitution Club drew key figures, including Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and Sonia Gandhi. Discussions are slated to center on the Special Intensive Revision exercise and broader allegations concerning the impartiality of constitutional institutions. NCP-SCP leader Jitendra Awhad emphasized that the alliance remains focused on protecting the values established by Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, despite the absence of the AAP.

In response, the BJP dismissed the opposition’s claims as a desperate bid for relevance fueled by political panic. BJP MP Bhola Singh defended the Election Commission’s integrity, noting that the Congress party successfully secured governance in Himachal Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka under the same electoral framework. He characterized the calls for the CEC’s resignation as baseless rhetoric, insisting that the electoral process remains impartial and accountable to the public mandate.
