BJP Accuses Congress of Importing Semitic Perspectives on Hinduism

Trivedi alleged that the Congress leadership is systematically attempting to fracture the Hindu community along lines of region, language, caste, and gender. He argued that the party’s rhetoric is increasingly influenced by Islamic and Christian perspectives, a trend he claims is designed to weaken national cohesion. During a press conference, the BJP leader suggested that Reddy’s controversial remarks—labeling Lord Shiva the 'God of the poor' and Lord Ram the 'God of the rich'—either stem from deep ignorance or a deliberate strategy to alienate northern and southern India.

Adding to the criticism, BJP leader PVN Madhav rejected the Chief Minister's attempt to compartmentalize deities. Madhav pointed out that Indian mythology views the Trinity as an integrated reality and noted that the worship of Lord Shiva is deeply rooted across the entire country, including the North, where many of the sacred Jyotirlingas are located. The BJP maintains that these divisive narratives are a continuation of previous statements made by Congress figures like D.K. Suresh and P. Chidambaram, who have historically highlighted regional tax and development disparities to fuel a North-South divide. Trivedi contrasted this with Prime Minister Modi’s actions, specifically citing the naming of the 'Shiv Shakti Point' on the Moon as a testament to the government's reverence for Hindu tradition.
