Chouhan Questions INDIA Bloc Cohesion and Rahul Gandhi’s Leadership

The BJP leader’s remarks came as opposition figures gathered at the Constitution Club in New Delhi to coordinate their strategy against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Chouhan argued that the coalition’s reluctance to follow Gandhi stems from a lack of internal consensus, questioning how the public could trust a leader whom his own party fails to fully empower. He characterized the meeting as a display of disarray, noting that Thackeray opted for a virtual appearance while Yadav skipped the assembly entirely.

Beyond internal politics, the Minister defended the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of voter rolls against opposition criticism. He argued that purging deceased, duplicated, or ineligible individuals from the lists is vital for a pristine democratic process. Dismissing allegations of electoral manipulation as sour grapes, Chouhan suggested that opposition parties reflexively blame the Prime Minister whenever electoral outcomes fail to meet their expectations. Meanwhile, CPI MP P Sandosh doubled down on the bloc's stance, demanding the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner and claiming that previous warnings regarding the electoral process have been validated.
