Karnataka Congress demands removal of CEC Gyanesh Kumar over bias claims

KPCC General Secretary S Manohar spearheaded the complaint, citing the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls as a mechanism for political disenfranchisement. The petition claims that the Election Commission is being weaponized to delete voter names under the guise of administrative updates, undermining the democratic process.

According to the letter, a nationwide outcry against Kumar’s tenure is already underway. The Congress leadership argues that the integrity of the electoral system depends on protecting the franchise of every citizen, asserting that the current leadership within the commission has failed to maintain necessary neutrality. The party insists that a genuine government cannot be formed unless the voter list accurately reflects the electorate, urging the President and the Governor to intervene to restore public trust in the upcoming electoral cycles.
