Revanth Reddy Discusses Telangana Political Landscape in Delhi

Reddy noted that Telangana's political structure diverges significantly from northern norms, where student affiliations often blur across party lines. He pointed to the ABVP’s presence in universities, suggesting that students who hold union roles frequently pivot to mainstream roles within the Congress party later in their careers. According to the Chief Minister, the BJP maintains limited electoral significance in the state, despite the influence of its student wing on campus.

Reflecting on his own career, Reddy detailed a trajectory that began as an independent ZPTC member in 2006. He described his transition through the Telugu Desam Party, where he served as an MLA, before eventually joining Congress in 2017. He attributed the decline of the TDP in Telangana to its leadership being anchored in Andhra Pradesh, creating a disconnect that allowed the Congress to reclaim influence. Reddy highlighted that his political identity solidified through direct opposition to both the BRS government and the NDA-aligned TDP, a struggle he claims resulted in multiple incarcerations during the tenure of former Chief Minister KCR.
