Congress stages nationwide protests demanding CEC Gyanesh Kumar's removal

In Hyderabad, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Mahesh Kumar Goud led a march from the Indira Gandhi statue to the local Election Commission office. MP Kiran Kumar Chamala alleged that the election process has been compromised by political interference from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Chamala claimed these actions aim to secure long-term political dominance, demanding the revocation of the 2025 voter list and the reinstatement of 13 crore voters he asserts were improperly removed.

Adding to the pressure, Congress MP Pawan Khera labeled the Special Intensive Revision illegal, citing a lack of parliamentary approval for amendments made to Form 6. Khera argued that without legislative oversight, all additions and deletions to the rolls are invalid. While Congress mobilized its cadres in major cities, Left parties joined the dissent in Patna, reflecting a broader coalition of opposition to the current leadership of the Election Commission.
