Shivakumar Vows Delhi Mission for Drought Relief Despite BJP Boycott

Shivakumar confirmed he will meet with Union Ministers and electoral officials during his visit, aiming to secure state interests despite the Opposition's absence. He dismissed the BJP’s boycott as a sign that they lack the resolve to advocate for the state’s farmers, characterizing their demands for financial aid as mere political theater. While the state government prepares to host a committee on the third to assess the situation, Shivakumar asserted that his administration remains prepared to act independently to secure necessary support.

Beyond immediate drought relief, the Deputy CM plans to press the central government on the Kasturirangan report. He intends to seek an audience with the Prime Minister to present Karnataka’s formal representation on the issue. By distancing himself from the BJP's refusal to participate, Shivakumar signaled that he intends to lead the effort unilaterally, framing the mission as a necessary step to bypass the gridlock between state political factions.
