BJYM Targets Youth Vote in Nagaon Bypoll with 1,800 Courtyard Meetings

The Nagaon district unit plans to host 1,000 of these gatherings, while the Morigaon wing prepares for 800. Dilip Kumar Sarma, a state BJP media coordinator, described the initiative as a direct effort to align the local youth with party ideology. Parallel to these efforts, the Mahila Morcha units are conducting door-to-door visits to promote the government’s welfare schemes for women.

Political momentum appears to be shifting as the campaign intensifies. On Thursday, a group of Congress workers, including Panchayat members and Youth Congress leaders, switched their allegiance to the BJP in the Jagiroad constituency. This transition took place during a convention held at Jagiroad College, attended by senior party figures like Ravindra Raju and Pijush Hazarika.

Meanwhile, NDA candidate Debashish Sarma is maintaining a rigorous schedule. He recently engaged with residents across 11 locations in the Rupahi constituency, including Juria and Gadaimari. His campaign is receiving visible support from alliance partner Asom Gana Parishad, with party leaders Atul Bora and Keshab Mahanta actively canvassing in Dhing, Rupahi, and Samaguri to bolster the NDA’s electoral prospects.
