The Himachal Pradesh government has executed an immediate administrative shake-up, appointing new deputy commissioners for Kullu and Kinnaur. Following recommendations from the Civil Services Board, the state administration moved two IAS officers to key district posts to manage regional governance and local development initiatives effectively.

Himachal Pradesh Reshuffles District Leadership

Dr. Amit Kumar Sharma, a 2016-batch IAS officer, transitions from his role as Deputy Commissioner of Kinnaur to lead the Kullu district. This appointment ends the additional charge held by HPAS officer Surjeet Singh. Simultaneously, Sonakshi Singh Tomar, also of the 2016 batch, vacates her position as CEO of the Baddi Barotiwala Nalagarh Development Authority to assume the role of Deputy Commissioner of Kinnaur at Reckong Peo.

Beyond the bureaucratic realignment, the Bharatiya Janata Party has finalized its own internal structural changes for the state. Shrikant Sharma retains his position as the party’s In-Charge for Himachal Pradesh, supported by newly appointed Co-In-Charge Darshana Singh, a Rajya Sabha MP. These organizational adjustments coincide with broader shifts across the party's national framework, including the reassignment of Pachhad MLA Reena Kashyap to serve as Co-In-Charge for Jammu & Kashmir.
