Prashant Kishor attacks Bihar leadership over rising crime

Kishor argued that Bihar’s reliance on police encounters is a failed strategy that ignores deep-seated structural decay. He specifically targeted the political friction between coalition partners Janata Dal (United) and the Bharatiya Janata Party, claiming their internal power struggles have left the state without stable leadership. According to Kishor, essential administrative roles—including the position of Director General of Police—remain in flux as parties prioritize dominance through transfer postings rather than governance.

The criticism comes alongside widespread unrest following two high-profile assaults. In addition to the Samastipur incident near Jagat Singhpur village, a recent attack on a Class 10 student in Jamui district has intensified pressure on the state government. While police officials state that legal action against the primary suspects is underway, Kishor maintains that the current administration is fundamentally incapable of ensuring public safety.
