BJP dismisses Rahul Gandhi’s claims of rigged electoral processes

The clash centers on Gandhi’s recent allegations, which drew from a report regarding two Election Commissioners, Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, who reportedly raised 14 formal objections over a ten-month period concerning voter list revisions and database management. Gandhi suggested these internal dissentions confirm his fears about the integrity of the voting system, specifically pointing to the apparent absence of anti-incumbency in recent state assembly results.

Trivedi dismissed these accusations as a failure to recognize long-term political shifts. He argued that the Congress party’s inability to regain power in states like West Bengal since 1977, Bihar since 1990, and Uttar Pradesh since 1989 predates the BJP’s current dominance. According to the Rajya Sabha MP, the introduction of CCTV surveillance and independent media scrutiny has simply made it impossible for Congress to rely on the political practices of the past, leaving the party struggling to adapt to a more transparent electoral environment.
