Congress MP Mallu Ravi Demands Electoral Roll Oversight in Telangana

The Supreme Court recently challenged the Election Commission of India over the issuance of notices to Delhi voters under the vague category of logical discrepancies. A bench led by CJI Surya Kant demanded a status report on the exercise, specifically questioning the lack of transparent material supporting such objections. Petitioners claim the process resulted in the exclusion of nearly 47 lakh names from the draft roll, while an additional 33 lakh voters received notices despite remaining on the list.

Mallu Ravi contends these irregularities validate persistent allegations from party leadership regarding the disenfranchisement of voters. He maintains that the court’s precedent, which emphasizes the fundamental nature of the right to vote, must be enforced nationwide. By demanding that the ECI adopt its interim directions from Bihar and West Bengal in all active revision states, the MP seeks to curb what he characterizes as systemic vote manipulation.
