Raut further stated that if the government fails to act, he would petition the President, and suggested that the military leadership should intervene to protect democratic integrity from what he termed dictatorial governance.
The controversy stems from an Indian Express report detailing that Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi recorded at least 14 objections over the past 10 months concerning decisions made without their participation. DMK spokesperson TKS Elangovan echoed these concerns, accusing the ruling party of manipulating the voter revision process to disenfranchise minority populations. As the Congress party prepares a formal response led by MP Abhishek Singhvi, the opposition continues to frame these administrative discrepancies as a systematic theft of voting rights.
