Regulatory filings indicate that Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump hold a stake in the holding company through their investment fund, American Ventures. Despite these high-profile ties, Powerus CEO Andrew Fox maintained that the deal was secured on merit and that the Trump brothers exercise no influence over the firm’s operational business decisions.
For Pakistan, this agreement signals a significant shift in military acquisition policy. During a meeting in Islamabad, Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir discussed long-term capacity building and technology production with the Powerus delegation. Velicovich noted that while the U.S. government previously restricted drone exports to the region—allowing China to fill the vacuum—there is a growing appetite in Washington to share advanced systems with regional partners. This deal follows a $686 million U.S. package approved last December to upgrade Pakistan’s F-16 fleet, further cementing a renewed trajectory in defense cooperation between the two nations.
