Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha characterized the strike as a direct challenge to the security of Western neighbors, labeling the action as terror knocking on the gates of the alliance. While initial reports described the hit as occurring in the vicinity, officials later confirmed the impact zone was restricted to the immediate border area.
Polish border authorities confirmed the proximity of the blast, enforcing a lockdown at the crossing to ensure safety. The escalating aerial campaign also targeted civilian infrastructure elsewhere in the region, with Ukrainian Railways documenting a separate strike on a passenger locomotive. Although the train was hit, no casualties were reported. This series of attacks underscores the vulnerability of transit corridors as military operations push closer to NATO member states.
