Rhetan TMT Targets Growth Through Capacity Expansion and Solar Power

Ahmedabad-based steel manufacturer Rhetan TMT Ltd is pivoting its strategy to move beyond its core TMT-bar business, banking on a major capacity upgrade at its Kadi facility and the integration of renewable energy to stabilize margins in a volatile market that recently saw a sharp divergence between profit and revenue.

The company intends to lift annual production at its Kadi plant from 45,000 MT to 75,000 MT, a move designed to capture a larger share of the infrastructure sector. To support this push, Rhetan has secured BIS certifications for high-grade Fe500D, Fe550, and Fe550D bars, aligning its output with more rigorous construction standards. Complementing these physical upgrades, the firm has brought a 1 MW captive solar farm online to hedge against rising energy costs.

Financial performance remains a mixed bag. While profit after tax surged 315.7% to ₹3.16 crore, revenue from operations contracted by 19.3% to ₹4.06 crore. Success for the manufacturer now hinges on its ability to translate increased production capacity into consistent top-line growth while maintaining the efficiency gains promised by its recent shift toward sustainable power.
