Advocate Naushad Ali, counsel for the mosque committee, has openly challenged the administration's refusal to release an inquiry report concerning the site’s status. This lack of disclosure remains a central point of contention in the ongoing legal battle. The case originated from a complaint by Vikas Tyagi, who alleged the structure occupied government land, triggering an investigation under the Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Act. Although subsequent findings reportedly identified the plot as Waqf property, the judicial order for demolition proceeded regardless.

Political fallout followed the physical dismantling of the site, culminating in the detention of Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Ajay Rai during demonstrations. Saharanpur DIG Abhishek Singh defended the operation as a strict adherence to court mandates, confirming that heavy security deployments were utilized to maintain order and prevent the spread of inflammatory misinformation.
