DMK Alleges Political Vendetta Following Raids on KN Nehru

The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption launched a series of raids across properties linked to former minister KN Nehru on Saturday, triggering a fierce political clash. DMK leadership has dismissed the investigation as a retaliatory strike designed to silence Nehru’s vocal opposition during the ongoing legislative assembly session.

Spokesperson Saravanan Annadurai stated that the searches at Nehru’s Tiruchirappalli residence and other sites are a direct response to his recent scrutiny of government policies. Party president MK Stalin echoed these concerns, characterizing the operation as a diversionary tactic. He pledged to challenge the allegations in court, framing the state’s pursuit of the former minister as a calculated effort to undermine political dissent.

The investigation centers on a potential Rs 888 crore cash-for-jobs scam, a figure that has escalated tensions between the ruling administration and the opposition. Defending the state’s position, Minister Dr. KG Arunraj maintained that the probe follows established legal protocols. He insisted that the process remains focused on accountability, asserting that any evidence of financial misconduct will be addressed through the judicial system as the High Court review proceeds.
