Telangana BJP Chief Spokesperson N V Subash dismissed objections from the Congress and Samajwadi Party, labeling their stance as opportunistic posturing ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. Subash argued that a career in the Indian Air Force, marked by 39 years of service and the Uttam Yuddh Seva Medal, provides the ideal foundation for managing a high-traffic institution. He insisted that administrative competence should be the primary metric for the role, rather than religious background.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust confirmed the appointment on Wednesday, alongside the selection of three new trustees. Beyond the leadership transition, the board reviewed the 2025–26 annual accounts and the status of an ongoing SIT investigation into financial irregularities. By installing a retired military officer, the trust aims to bolster transparency and public confidence in the handling of donations, a move the BJP asserts should set a precedent for all religious institutions.
