Akhilesh Yadav raises corruption concerns as Ram Temple trust meets

As the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust convened in Ayodhya to appoint its first Chief Executive Officer, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav issued a sharp warning against the misappropriation of temple donations, alleging that past financial irregularities resulted in the scapegoating of minor employees while powerful figures remained untouched.

Yadav’s remarks surfaced during the high-stakes meeting at Shri Maniramdas Chhawni, where trust members gathered to review a final report from a search committee. This committee evaluated over 5,000 applicants to narrow down candidates for the top administrative role. The selection panel, featuring retired Lieutenant General Vishnu Kant Chaturvedi, scientist Suresh Haware, and former Justice Pramod Kohli, submitted its findings to a group including Treasurer Swami Govind Dev Giri Ji Maharaj and District Magistrate Shashank Tripathi.

Beyond the leadership appointment, Yadav accused the ruling party of fostering an environment of greed in Ayodhya, claiming that local residents are being defrauded of their land under the guise of urban development. He demanded greater transparency, insisting that the city should have been transformed into a world-class center rather than a site for exploitation. The trust now faces the task of selecting a candidate who can oversee the temple's operations amid this heightened political scrutiny.
