Addressing administrative concerns, Khemchand confirmed that the central government deferred the Census exercise in the state. This decision stems from ongoing debates surrounding the implementation of the National Register of Citizens, which many local stakeholders insist must precede any population count.

Upon his arrival in Imphal, Khemchand was greeted by state BJP president Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi and party officials. He took the opportunity to highlight recent infrastructure progress, specifically the reopening of National Highway connectivity, which has restored inter-state movement and provided residents with more affordable travel options. The government maintains that prioritizing these logistical lifelines is crucial to sustaining the state’s recovery efforts.
