Bhandari claims the new data proves India remains the fastest-growing major economy, consistently outpacing both China and the United States. He contrasted the current performance with what he described as the Congress party's tenure, when India was labeled one of the Fragile Five. According to the BJP spokesperson, the country has maintained strong fundamentals despite global energy crises and economic headwinds, crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for the momentum.

West Bengal Minister Dilip Ghosh echoed this sentiment in Kolkata, noting that the administration has nearly met its internal targets. Official data from the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation confirms real GDP reached Rs 81.36 lakh crore in the April-June quarter, surpassing the Reserve Bank of India’s earlier projection of 7 per cent. While nominal GDP grew by 10.3 per cent, the ministry cautioned that these figures remain subject to future revisions based on updated input data. The next quarterly report is scheduled for release on November 30, 2026.
