Surender Vivek takes the helm as the new Bihar president, while MLA Raju Tiwari transitions to the role of National General Secretary. Vivek, who previously contested the 2025 Bihar assembly race from Sahebpur Kamal, steps into the role following a narrow defeat to the RJD’s Sattanand Sambuddha. This shift occurs as the party builds on its momentum from the 2025 cycle, where it secured 19 of the 28 seats it contested.
The restructuring extends deep into North and West India. In Uttar Pradesh, where the party seeks to recover from a blank performance in the 2022 polls, Rajeev Pasi has been tasked with overseeing Eastern and Central regions, while Pawan Kumar Verma assumes control of Western Uttar Pradesh. Additional state appointments include Amar Singh Mehmi in Punjab, Vishal Singh Thakur in Uttarakhand, Khoiram Deepu Singh in Manipur, Nitin Chauhan in Himachal Pradesh, and Ashish Kumar Patel in Gujarat.
Paswan further solidified the national leadership team by naming Abdul Khaliq as national secretary general and MP Rajesh Verma as national treasurer. The party’s youth and women’s wings also saw leadership changes, with Pranab Kumar and Chandra Prabha Bhatia appointed to lead their respective divisions. The appointments were confirmed via social media, with Paswan expressing expectations for a successful tenure from the newly expanded cabinet.
