Jogi Ramesh decries political weaponization of family dispute

Former Andhra Pradesh Minister Jogi Ramesh has denounced the public scrutiny of his son’s marital breakdown, characterizing the recent FIR against eleven of his relatives as a calculated political assault. He argues that opponents are exploiting a private domestic crisis to discredit his family and his standing as a YSRCP leader.

Jogi Ramesh decries political weaponization of family dispute

The dispute between Rajeev, the son of the former minister, and his wife, Meghana, has escalated into a legal battle involving allegations of religious conversion. Ramesh firmly rejected these claims, citing his family's long-standing tradition of participating in rituals at temples across Tirupati and Vijayawada. He expressed deep frustration over the inclusion of his wife’s personal faith in the police complaint, framing the accusation as a smear tactic rather than a legitimate legal concern.

Beyond the courtroom, Ramesh pointed to a coordinated misinformation campaign, specifically citing AI-generated content and malicious posts circulating on social media platforms linked to the iTDP. He questioned the involvement of MLA Vasantha Krishna Prasad, suggesting that political rivals are actively fueling the conflict to cause psychological distress. By invoking the private lives of prominent figures like NTR and Chiranjeevi, Ramesh challenged the current political climate, demanding that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu cease the use of family affairs as a tool for political retribution. He maintains that he is prepared to confront his opponents on policy grounds, insisting that his personal life remains separate from his public duties.
