Singh had moved to the United States 13 years ago, burdened by significant debt and the hope of securing a stable future for his parents. His father, Pyara Lal, described his son’s years in America as a grueling cycle of labor, working day and night to pay off loans and support his family back in India.
Local authorities in New York have yet to release specific findings from their investigation into the shooter’s identity. Meanwhile, Singh’s surviving family members have appealed to the Indian government to expedite the repatriation of his remains. They are also calling on US law enforcement to prioritize the case and ensure the perpetrator is brought to justice.
