Yapı Kredi Leasing, a subsidiary of the Koç Group-backed bank, will deploy these funds to expand its sustainable portfolio. The agreement covers a spectrum of technologies, including solar, wind, and geothermal energy projects, alongside modern industrial equipment designed to lower operational costs. A specific focus is placed on the textile industry, where machinery upgrades are critical for manufacturers aiming to balance productivity with tightening environmental standards.
Beyond energy efficiency, 15% of the capital is earmarked for "blue" investments—initiatives centered on water management, wastewater treatment, and plastic recycling. This diversification allows the program to address broader resource sustainability beyond simple carbon reduction. For the Asian Development Bank, the partnership serves as a strategic conduit to reach private enterprises through an established provider, bypassing the limitations of direct, individual financing. The project aligns with Türkiye’s Green Deal Action Plan and the Koç Group’s broader commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
