Moscow Threatens Retaliation Over UK-Supplied Drones

The Kremlin warned London on Monday that it would pay a significant price for its involvement in the conflict after reports emerged that British-made drones had been utilized in strikes deep within Russian territory. Russia’s embassy in the UK officially branded the British government a direct accomplice in these attacks.

The diplomatic escalation follows a report in the Sunday Times alleging that drones manufactured by two UK-based firms were deployed by Kyiv to strike Russian military and industrial targets. While the newspaper identified one manufacturer as a subsidiary of the defense giant BAE Systems, the second company remains unnamed due to security concerns. Moscow’s statement characterized the supply of this hardware as a deliberate choice to fuel escalation, warning that continued support for what it termed Ukraine’s terrorist machinery would result in severe consequences.

Britain, which has contributed approximately 25 billion pounds in total aid since the invasion began in February 2022, has not yet issued a formal response to the allegations. The incident occurs as both sides intensify their long-range aerial campaigns, with Ukraine increasing its frequency of strikes on Russian soil while Moscow maintains its bombardment of Ukrainian infrastructure.
