District Magistrate Shailendra Kumar confirmed the panic began when a cable wire fell. Devotees mistakenly assumed the wire remained live, triggering a desperate rush to escape the perceived hazard. Emergency responders arrived shortly after the commotion to provide medical aid to the injured, while local authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crush.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and called for immediate support from the local administration. While the site remains under scrutiny, officials are focusing on the medical recovery of those hospitalized following the tragedy.
