Chouhan Demands Apology from Rahul Gandhi Over Foreign Policy Critique

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan slammed Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Friday, labeling his recent critiques of India’s foreign policy as both indecent and undemocratic. Chouhan insisted that Gandhi issue a formal apology, arguing that the opposition leader had crossed established boundaries of political decorum.

Chouhan argued during a press briefing that while democratic principles grant freedom of speech, Gandhi’s rhetoric has become a source of national distress. The Minister dismissed the opposition’s approach as counterproductive, maintaining that the government remains open to dialogue, provided the discourse remains within acceptable limits.

Rahul Gandhi’s remarks, delivered at the Rachnatmak Congress National Convention, centered on a challenge to the Modi administration’s diplomatic priorities. He suggested that the current strategy favors personal rapport with international leaders over core national security interests. Gandhi specifically pointed to the government’s handling of tensions with China and the ongoing conflict in Iran, accusing the ruling party of compromising India's global standing to secure domestic political advantages.
