Patna Eyes World Trade Centre as Part of Ambitious Urban Overhaul

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has initiated a high-level review to establish a World Trade Centre in Patna, marking a push to modernize the state capital. The proposal centers on redeveloping government land parcels into a hub that integrates advanced technology with strict environmental sustainability standards.

The strategy, discussed at the 'Sankalp' auditorium, prioritizes a 'Zero Waste Model' to reshape the city’s urban infrastructure. Beyond the trade center, the administration is pivoting toward long-term economic expansion through its 'Vision 2030' roadmap. This secondary initiative targets the state's 'Blue Economy,' specifically aiming to scale up fish production and create new employment opportunities through sustainable aquaculture projects. While these planning sessions dominated his schedule, Choudhary also balanced his administrative duties with local civic engagements, including participation in the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign and a memorial tribute to Dr. BR Ambedkar at Haveli Kharagpur.
