Gasoline prices will fall by 230 yuan, approximately $34.11, per metric ton, while diesel will see a reduction of 220 yuan per metric ton. The commission’s Friday notice confirmed that these adjustments are tied to recent volatility in the global oil sector.
Officials calculated these new price caps using a currency exchange rate of 6.7434 yuan to the dollar. By aligning domestic caps with these international benchmarks, the agency seeks to provide relief to the domestic market during a period of broader economic uncertainty.
