Hossein Taeb dismissed American efforts to undermine Tehran’s regional security, framing the closure of the strait as a necessary defensive response. The waterway, essential for global oil and gas transit, remains shuttered following the February 28 strikes carried out by U.S. and Israeli forces.

Iran now maintains that the strait will remain closed until all prior commitments are honored, effectively weaponizing the transit route in its ongoing standoff with the United States.
