Police discovered the bodies of 45-year-old Sudha Venkatesan and 14-year-old Siddarth Aravind inside their Martha Lane home after the father requested a well-being check. Venkatesan was found in the basement, while her son was located on the first floor, both bearing signs of severe trauma. While the Chief Medical Examiner has yet to confirm the cause of death or the weapon involved, authorities noted that the teenager fled the scene in his mother’s Honda Accord before being located by police in Wayland.
Investigators uncovered a disturbing digital trail leading up to the incident. According to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office, Aravind had used ChatGPT to research theoretical scenarios regarding killing his family, framing the queries as research for Gothic-style fiction. Aravind, a student at Acton-Boxborough Regional High School, is expected to face arraignment in Concord District Court on charges including murder, assault and battery on a household member, and vehicle theft.
