The infrastructure solutions provider priced the bond at a 1.4925% coupon, leveraging its investment-grade status from S&P and Moody’s to attract significant institutional interest. Domestic Swiss investors dominated the orderbook, claiming 90% of the demand, while international accounts rounded out the remainder. Financial institutions led the participation at 57%, followed by asset managers at 37% and hedge funds at 6%.
This issuance, the fourth and largest Swiss Franc deal for the Corporation, operates under its US$5 billion Global Medium-Term Note Programme. Ownership is recorded via a regulated digital register, with clearing and settlement managed through SIX Swiss Exchange infrastructure. According to President and CEO Samaila Zubairu, the move signals deep investor confidence in the organization's long-term strategy to mobilize capital for industrial and economic development across Africa.
Executive Board Member Banji Fehintola noted that the integration of blockchain-based infrastructure serves as a strategic step toward diversifying financing sources. The proceeds are earmarked for general funding requirements, further bolstering the Corporation’s capacity to finance infrastructure projects. Commerzbank AG served as Technical Lead, with Deutsche Bank AG facilitating the arrangement of the transaction.
