Political friction emerged as opposition parties challenged the government’s stance. AIADMK leader EPS suggested that a measured approach to delimitation could actually improve administrative efficiency, despite his party's general support for gender quotas. Meanwhile, BJP MLA M. Bhojarajan urged the state to accept inevitable national shifts, and DMDK representatives dismissed the resolution as a strategic political maneuver rather than a necessary policy intervention.
