Marandi asserts that the Jharkhand government is weaponizing the Criminal Investigation Department and the Anti-Corruption Bureau to neutralize the Enforcement Directorate's oversight. According to the BJP leader, the state’s internal probes serve only to insulate key figures involved in job-selling rackets. He points to a pattern of strategic arrests by local agencies occurring immediately after federal interventions, which he describes as a calculated maneuver to maintain control over the investigation's narrative.
The allegations highlight a deepening mistrust among candidates who have taken to the streets to demand an independent federal inquiry. Marandi maintains that a nexus between state officials and exam fixers has compromised the integrity of local oversight, rendering current investigations insufficient. By resisting a CBI probe, the Chief Minister is, in Marandi's view, signaling a fear of the legal consequences that a neutral investigation would inevitably uncover.
