The Mainland Affairs Council dismissed the announcement as political manipulation, arguing that China is attempting to manufacture a narrative of jurisdiction where none exists. While China continues to frame the island as a breakaway territory, the involvement of a foreign partner like Indonesia complicates the regional security landscape. Jakarta has remained silent regarding the exercise, leaving Taipei to navigate the diplomatic fallout alone. Taiwan maintains that it will continue to defend its sovereignty and regional stability against what it describes as systematic provocations.
