The world’s primary wheat exporter is grappling with a combination of sluggish harvest cycles, suppressed global pricing, and persistent shipping volatility in the Black Sea. Andrey Sizov, head of the agriculture consultancy Sovecon, pointed to mounting pressure on domestic producers as these logistical bottlenecks tighten.

Security concerns remain a central factor in the export slump. Turkey has formally cautioned both Moscow and Kyiv following recent escalations in the region, demanding immediate safety protocols to protect vital maritime trade corridors from further disruption. These navigational risks continue to complicate the movement of grain as the harvest season progresses.
