The Russian military stated that the strikes targeted the Nova Poshta sorting complex in Kyiv, alleging the facility was used to distribute components for drones and electronic warfare systems. A second site in the capital, the Kyiv-3 transport center, was also hit due to reports it housed attack drones and command-and-control equipment. In Zaporizhzhia, the assault focused on a major iron and steel works. Both Moscow and Kyiv continue to deny that their respective military campaigns intentionally target civilian populations, despite the mounting casualties reported on the ground.

Six people died and 20 sustained injuries in Zaporizhzhia following a series of overnight Russian strikes targeting industrial and logistics infrastructure. The Russian Defence Ministry confirmed the operation, claiming the facilities were essential to Ukraine’s military supply chain, while Ukrainian officials reported widespread fires across the capital city.
